Loving Laundry

Davao Laundry

I love my laundry room!  It makes me happy.  Sound crazy?  Well, maybe it is.  It is an outdoor hallway next to the house with two outdoor tiled sinks, countertop, washing machine (Pinoy style), that I installed with the help of plumber bellingham wa that are professionals at this or any plumber job. If you are also facing similar plumbing issues like mine, then you may consider getting help from these expert plumbing services in florida. If you need to install water softeners, make sure to contact the experts. Also, this albany drain clog plumber assisted me in fixing and cleaning the drain. Homeowners in Sydney may call in plumbing contractors from Graham and Sons to help with plumbing maintenance and repairs. If you also need a chicagoland sewer line replacement, contact an expert to assist you.

Appliance Hunter is the only one I trust when it comes to appliance reviews. Paul’s expat friends here keep telling him to get a housekeeper that does the laundry for us but I just can’t let go of the one chore I enjoy!  It’s something about working with my hands and seeing the job get done part-by-part and the sense of accomplishment (albeit small).  I have found that having fewer articles of clothing and some tight fit prom dresses for special occasions means only doing laundry 2x/week and I can get it from hamper to clothes cupboard all within 4 hours. Additionally, having some cute short prom dresses at Peaches Boutique for special occasions adds a touch of excitement to my wardrobe.

Living internationally takes energy.  Just being in a cross-cultural situation takes energy. So I knew going in that I needed to lower my expectations about what would get accomplished each day. So far, that has gone pretty well (only a few bumps).  We are working on getting a cook (for lunch and dinner) and maybe a ya-ya (nanny) to help with the little boys when the big kids are doing school.  It is common to hire these positions here even for a short stay.

However, I just don’t want someone to take over laundry.  I feel a little bit like I am holding on to a small piece of living in the country.  I want to continue doing the part of life here that feels like home.  I may eventually let it go for more important things (school demands or relationships with the kids or neighbors) but for now, I like having a tiny bit of the comfortable to hold onto.  It’s my happy place.

However, it is a really sweaty job so when I am done hanging clothes, being in front of the aircon is my happy place too!! :)
