Alia’s Charm Bracelet
Have you ever seen an ad for something that promises you something free "if you stop in our store"? We saw one of those recently...from a high end jewelry store offering a free bracelet. I was intrigued but wondered what we may have to do or what the catch was....
Living in Cabo San Lucas
Cabo San Lucas is very touristy. Lots of gingos (white people) due to the resorts and cruise ship traffic. The public beaches are a bit harder to find and some require payment to park. However, the dogs are doing well with their training and we know that we will be...
Wrapping Up Life in Paradise, er Cabo Pulmo
These are a few of the last things that happened before we left Pulmo to head to Cabo San Lucas. We met some super fun friends who are from Alaska! Our kids spent EVERY day playing together and the Kortman kids were sad when the Oster kids (ages 4 & 2) had to...
Traveling with Kids in Mexico: The Other House
So, as I mentioned in an earlier post the kids found a cement structure nearby Gracie and not only claimed it as their own but immediately started on improvements. These kids know how to arrive and settle in quickly...wonder where they get that??? (insert sheepish...
Tropical Photoshoot
I figured it had been a while since I had really taken any good posed shots of the kids and there was a really cool old stone house nearby our spot in Cabo Pulmo so we decided to have a photoshoot. I scoped out the house a few days before and took these two shots:...
Life In Cabo Pulmo, Camping on the Beach for Free!
We LOVE it here! The warm (but not hot) days and cool (but not chilly) nights. The turquoise/aqua water. The sound of the surf. Off the beaten path but not too far (30 minutes) from groceries.
It has been pretty windy (12-15 mph with gusts around 20) but we are told that it is uncommon and probably due to El Nino. The weather report says we will have some calmer days later in the week.
We’ve Had Enough! They’re Ready for Boarding School!
We've tried, we've worked hard, Becky has come up with various ways to motivate them, to give them consequences, and all kinds of rewards. And still, they bite, play rough, and in general do a terrible job at being obedient! But, no, we're NOT TALKING ABOUT OUR KIDS....
4 Kids Aren’t Enough, The Kortmans Want 6
So as not to confuse you, let be straight with you. I am a dog. I am also one of the Kortman's 6 kids. Sure they have 4 two legged kids, but they have 2 four legged kids as well. You may have been around to meet MooMoo in July. But one furbaby was not enough. So when...
The Day the Wheels Came Off
Editor's note: This was written last week Sunday, read the epilogue at the end for the ongoing update. Cracks! Leaving the best beach we camped on was already a sad event. But had we known the day was going to get worse we’d probably have just stayed put. When we...
On to Cabo Pulmo!
Moving On We are leaving Los Barriles tomorrow morning for Cabo Pulmo about 1 hr south. We should have internet there but it always takes us a bit to get resettled and back in the flow of things so I thought I would give a bit of an update today and then show...
